PickerKit is an independent web project with four focused tools: Name Picker, Number Picker, Yes/No Picker, and Team Picker. Each tool works in the browser without an account or installation.
Our Mission
The goal is practical: make common random-selection tasks quick, understandable, and accessible. PickerKit is designed for classroom participation, giveaway drawings, workshop groups, games, and everyday decisions.
The current tools are free to use and require no registration. Future monetization may include clearly identified advertising or partner links, without putting the core picker functions behind an account.
The Story Behind PickerKit
PickerKit began as a small name-picker project. It later expanded into separate tools for numeric ranges, binary choices, and evenly sized random teams.
The project now emphasizes fast loading, visible selection behavior, responsive layouts, and serverless share links that keep wheel entries inside the URL fragment rather than sending them to a PickerKit database.
Our Values
Fairness First
PickerKit uses the browser's Web Crypto API when available and falls back to the browser's standard random generator only when necessary. Equal-sized wheel slices receive equal probability.
Radical Simplicity
We believe the best interface is the one you don't notice. Every feature, every button, every option is there for a reason and works exactly as you'd expect. We obsessively remove complexity, keeping only what genuinely adds value.
Universal Accessibility
Great tools should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford subscriptions or tolerate intrusive advertising. PickerKit is free for all, and we aim to support it over time with respectful monetization that does not interfere with functionality.
Privacy by Design
Picker lists and selections stay in your browser unless you explicitly create a share link. We use aggregate website analytics, but PickerKit does not require an account or sell personal data.
Continuous Improvement
Changes are tested against tool behavior, metadata, structured data, internal links, and mobile layouts before release.
Transparency
Our algorithms are straightforward, our selection processes are visible, and our business model is meant to stay clear. If and when we introduce ads, sponsorships, or partner recommendations, we will be explicit about it. No hidden agendas, no data selling, no dark patterns.
